Two traffic police cops caught extorting bribes from motorists on Langata Road, Nairobi County.
According to Nairobi County Police Commander, the two are accused of harrasing motorists and Bodaboda operators plying the route collecting Kshs100/50 bribery.
He confirmed the incident said they were notified about the latest report by four motorists who had been roughed up by two cops for allegedly refusing to pay Kshs100 bribery money.
The latest development comes only two weeks when three security officers were lynched in Wagusu market centre, Siaya County for allegedly extorting bribes from chang'aa brewers.
Traffic police officers in Langata Road have been on the seniors officers radar following an incident that happened in the recent past, where a police cop was beaten to death for allegedly stealing Kshs1500 from a passenger.
Following the Sunday morning incident, he said that stern action will be taken against security officers found obtaining money under false pretence from unsuspecting members of the public.
The officers are reported to have been controlling a long traffic snarl-up along the busy highway when the latest development emerged.
