Speaking to the press today, Gachagua claimed that they have gotten information that William Ruto is planning brutal night evictions of Gikuyu, Embu and Meru Traders.
"We have information that William Ruto has ordered persecutions of the Gikuyu, Embu and Meru in Nairobi through brutal inhumane evictions carried out at night and supervised by armed police officers." Gachagua said.
He went ahead to allege targeted areas for demolitions which he said are dominated by Gikuyu, Meru and Embu Traders. He listed Tsunami, Nyayo, Kamukunji, Gikomba Markets as some of the areas targeted for night demolitions.
Gachagua questioned the genuineness of the alleged planned night evictions wondering why they are done at night and why Weston Hotel which is owned by Ruto isn't demolished too since it allegedly sits on public land.
"If it's genuine that public land and spaces should be vacated, why is Weston Hotel standing tall on KCA land and other properties owned by corrupt city officials and National Politicians not touched?" Gachagua questioned.
Gachagua appeared to claim that the Government is targeting the Gikuyu, Embu and Meru Communities in the demolitions even as he accused President Ruto of ordering the brutal night evictions in markets dominated by the traders from the aforementioned communities.
